Note:  While not dated, this surimono appears to celebrate the 1942 debut of  shamisen
player Nozawa Kizaemon II (野澤喜左衛門).  Although I have not been able to
confirm that Kizaemon II played the shamisen in this production, the fact that this print
is a surimono is consistent with the production taking place at the new year.  As
Ennosuke II and Ichikawa Danshirô III both appeared as Sanbasô in this production,
the print could depict either of them.  However, based on a 1952 print by Natori Shunsen,
 the costume would suggest that the figure is Danshirô III.
