signature and seal, no doubt because
Kunisada had died in 1920) was originally
issued in a slightly different color scheme
with the same actor playing this role in a
different play in November 1918. However,
it is possible that this print reflects Utaemon V's
performance as Yodogimi in Daigo no Haru
(醍醐の春) at the Shintomi-za in June 1921.
