Note: Danjûrô IX also performed this role in Tokyo in a special
performance at the Inoue Kaoru residence in April 1887, and at  the
Fukano-za in February 1892, and at a special performance at the
Kabuki-za in June 1898.  It is possible that  the print reflects one of
those performances.

Note: This print was issued posthumously.  Danjûrô IX also
portrayed Ise no Saburô in Mibae Genji Michinoku Nikki
(☆源氏陸奥日記) at the Shintomi-za in December 1886 and
January, 1887, at the Ueno-tei? in April 1887, and at the
Kabuki-za in June 1901.
