Note: I have not found a contemporan-
eous Tokyo stage performance with this
particular cast.  There were productions
with Danjûrô IX at the Naka-za in June 1889,
at the Meiji-za in June 1996, and at the
Kabuki-za in October 1902.

Note This is a posthumous
reissue of an 1896 print by
Kunichika with a somewhat
different cast.  It is not known
 why the publisher put Utagawa
Kunisada III's name on this
print.  Kunisada, however, 
appears to have designed a
similar kumiage dôrôô-e in May
